UMCOR (the United Methodist Committee on Relief) is calling for a “rain of compassion.” Worse than the earthquake in Haiti and Chile and the tsunami combined, the flooding in Pakistan is displacing millions of people. Whole villages have been washed away. The immediate need is for food, medical services and temporary shelter. There long-term recovery needs are staggering. The United Methodist Committee on Relief is working through its partners in Pakistan to bring immediate relief.
