53. Campbell UMC in Caruthersville – 1st Place Contest Winner

CaruthersvilleThank-you Melissa Dodd, from Campbell United Methodist Church, for producing this anniversary edition of MissionCast.  Episode #53 tells about the diaster response volunteers in mission ministry of Campbell UMC in tornado torn Caruthersville, Missouri.  The song “There’s A Time” was composed and written by Campbell United Methodist Church’s senior pastor, Jim Oman.

To celebrate the one year anniversary of MissionCast the Office of Creative Ministries sponsored a MissionCast Video Contest.  This video received 1st place with the prize of a digital video camcorder.  Congratulations Melissa and thank-you Campbell United Methodist Church.

48. Heifer Ranch – Atlanta UMC Youth Group

HutHeifer Ranch, in Perryville, Arkansas, provides education about World Hunger and ways to help alleviate it. 46. Little Bethlehem – Fairview United Methodist Church

42. Thanksgiving Basket Ministry, First UMC, Jefferson City

Pumpkin PieTwo hundred grateful families received pumpkin pies, the turkey and all of the trimmings for a grand Thanksgiving Dinner.  The Thanksgiving baskets were prepared by members of the First United Methodist Church, in Jefferson City.  This week’s MissionCast interviews both volunteers and recipients.  We express our thanks to Debra Walker who produced this MissionCast and look forward to individuals from many more congregations who will be submitting materials for this vlog.

40. Mozambique: Unsettling In A Good Way – Catherine Pearson

Catherine Pearson

Catherine Pearson, a graduate student at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, spent the summer in Mozambique working with Habitat for Humanity and the Office of Creative Ministries VIM program.  She is a member of Missouri United Methodist Church, in Columbia, and accompanied their VIM team on the way to Mozambique.  She then stayed to assist other teams and help in the process of selecting potential home owners.  In this MissionCast she shares her thoughts and experiences.
