118. The Gathering UMC Partners With Kingdom House

Garden

Is your congregation currently partnering with one or more of our United Methodist Oureach Agencies?  If not consider the kind of partnership that has developed between the Gathering United Methodist Church, in St. Louis, and Kingdom House.
Rev. Matt Miofsky tells MissionCast what a valuable partnership this can be.  His congregation decided to fully fund an emergency day care called ‘The Famiy Center” at Kingdom House.  Raising the $30,000 needed seemed a daunting task for a new congregation, but the money was raised in short order because members of the congregation could see that they were making a difference.  Matt emphasizes that more than the money the congregation wants to build a relationship with the ministry at Kingdom House and the community where their church is located.
For information about forming a partnership with Kingdom House you may contact Jennifer March, who serves as the director for development at Kingdom House. (314-421-0400 or jmarch@kingdomhouse.org)  To learn more about our ministry at Kingdom House visit their website at www.kingdomhouse.org.
You may also request a DVD with a short three minute video about each of our United Methodist Outreach Agencies by sending an email to Max Marble at marble@umocm.com or calling the Office of Creative Ministries at 573-474-7155.
