381. MissionCast – Ubuntu Journey to Africa – United Methodist Women

HaitiA picture of Marian Gooding, from the Alton United Methodist Church, was on the back cover of the September Response magazine, the national magazine for United Methodist Women. She had been on a United Methodist Women’s Ubuntu journey to Zimbabwe. Ubuntu Journeys are unique, short-term mission service opportunities of United Methodist Women to interact with the world through mission partners. We caught up with her at the Alton United Methodist Church and asked about her experience. Marian will happily share this experience with UMW groups in Missouri.

380. Baby Grace Ministry – Buckner UMC

HaitiMeet Joyce Wheeler who dropped out of High School when she became pregnant. She truly has found grace at Baby Grace. She shares how the ministry has been a huge help to her through the last 6 years during which time she has married, finished her GED and has three wonderful children.
Baby Grace Ministry was born at the Buckner United Methodist Church in response to the needs of young mothers of their community. Through the ministry young parents receive parenting education as well as diapers, clothing, bedding, toys and books all donated by contributing members of the community. Everything they received is bundled up with a lot of spiritual blessings and a great deal of love. For more information go to www.babygrace.org. 378. Buidling Community with Bike Repair in a Diverse Community

377. MissionCast – Pleasant Hill Children Promote Health in India

HaitiEach year the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church offers Vacation Bible School to the children of their congregation and their community. This year the children learned about the Ludhiana Christian Medical College in northwest India. The offering each day was received for this educational and healing ministry. When the Vacation Bible School offering was tabulated they had received over $1400. The children were glad they had been able to help provide health care to children and their families on the other side of the world in India.
